The Hoops Inn
The Hoops is a small pub belonging to the Henry Moore Foundation - a registered charity founded by the artist to encourage public appreciation of the visual arts. The client requested that the interior was modernised to reflect the sophistication that Moore brought to the house and estate at Perry Green. An emphasis was placed on maintaining the pubs rural, charm. Strong yet subtle references to Moore include his own textile designs which date back to 1946. Prints by Moore, and images relating to his life and work at Perry Green adorn the interior with vintage books available to take down and read. Original features such as exposed oak beams and a huge fireplace have been preserved. Natural materials have been used including reclaimed long bench seats in vibrant green and a new slate coloured floor. The walls are neutral with tonal painted paneling to dado height.
