Boutique, luxury hotel group WST approached us to undertake the identity work for the Sky bar in the newly opened Almanac Hotel in Barcelona. We were tasked with creating the name, identity and branded collateral.
Perfect cocktails are about equal measure, with recipes being calculated by mathematical accuracy. The identity for Azimuth reflects this by celebrating the divine proportion, sometimes known as the ‘Golden Ratio’ – a mathematical equation that is present in art, design and nature.
The name “Azimuth” is in reference to the angular measurement of the shadow cast on a sundial, in keeping with the mathematical theme and a reference to the bars location.
The visual identity utilities the mathematical linear drawings across the menus and stationery, using high quality substrates combined with gold foils and subtle debossing. The minimal colour palette utilises gold and bright white for a crisp and premium feel, the deep red colour compliments the interior design.
