We were approached by Michelin-starred chefs and long standing clients, Chris and Jeff Galvin to create a brand identity for their newest venture in Chelmsford, Essex.
Having opened a number of acclaimed restaurants across the UK, the brothers decided to try their hand in the pub business, commissioning us to transform a small, yet historic country pub into a prestigious gastro pub.
The biggest challenge for us was to create a unique and original “Green Man” figure, as it is such an iconic and recognisable character in folklore. To overcome this, we spent a long time perfecting the Green Man illustration, pouring over every single detail, from the leaves, to the facial expression, ending up with a smiling and wise looking figure who encapsulates the spirit of the Galvin brand.
The striking green and gold colour palette applied in the logo, signage and print collateral were developed to compliment the concept’s interior scheme, creating an integrated visual experience.
