Noreen London - a bold and evocative new Middle-Eastern restaurant - has made its debut in heart of St Christopher’s Place in Central London.
Collaborating with DLSM Studio, this new Arabic-inspired space is set within a Grade II listed former retail space which has been transformed into a celebration of cultural vibrancy and contemporary dining.
Inspiration
Inspired by the name ‘Noreen’ - nor meaning light and een meaning two in Arabic - the design explores light from a dual perspective of source and effect, playing with texture, shadow and colour.
The concept has been carefully tailored to its surroundings, situated just off Oxford Street within the vibrant, boutique-lined enclave of St Christopher’s Place. Noreen offers 80 covers, including a distinctive set of indoor/outdoor window seat tables that connect the restaurant to the energy of the street.
Delivering both the branding and interior design for Noreen, the DNA of the concept is focused on refined, Arabian-inspired influences that blend traditional craftsmanship with contemporary elegance.
Details
Original low arches throughout the restaurant have created intimate alcoves within which diners can enjoy their meal. Finished in stucco plaster, the walls are layered with bespoke hand-painted delicate floral murals that add depth and cultural richness.
The floors are lined with intriguing bespoke marble and terrazzo tiles, with the restaurant’s name proudly engrained into the finish. Natural materials, including ceiling rafts woven with palm leaves imported from Bahrain and a brass-and-stained-glass balustrade inspired by traditional Middle Eastern building methods, add authenticity and visual intrigue.
A small, terracotta-tiled dessert bar with a fringed detail is accompanied by an open kitchen (finished in rich green glazed tiles, a granite pass, and reeded glass shelving) which brings energy and theatre to the space.

Beyond its striking design, Noreen promises an immersive guest experience that captures the spirit and soul of Middle Eastern hospitality. Guests are invited to embark on a sensory journey through evocative flavours, aromas, and textures, with a menu that brings to life the rich culinary heritage of the region. From the warm welcome at the door to the vibrant sharing plates served with theatrical flair, every detail is curated to evoke the conviviality and generosity that define Middle Eastern culture.
