In support of International Women’s Day, DesignLSM are raising awareness of Only A Pavement Away‘s inspiring campaign ‘Women in Hospitality | A Seat at the Table‘.
Established in 2018, Only A Pavement Away aims to connect forward thinking employers in the hospitality industry and charities working with people facing or experiencing homelessness, prison leavers and veterans, to help place them into long term, stable employment, for a brighter future. Only A Pavement Away also work in conjunction with The Right Course, who DesignLSM are offering free consultation to on our latest project, transforming HM Berwyn Prison’s staff cafe into a working restaurant, providing serving prisoners with the opportunity to gain valuable skills and qualifications.
This year’s Women’s Day campaign seeks to champion the hospitality industry as inclusive and a great career path for women, as well highlighting the specific challenges that women facing homelessness experience, such as domestic violence, sexual abuse and sex trafficking.
With record highs of women facing homelessness in the cost of living crisis, this year the organisation’s mission is to get 250 women facing homelessness into stable employment in hospitality.
