EQ Group appointed us to provide a market assessment of the culinary landscape within Kingston Upon Thames. The purpose of this study was to formulate a strategic positioning and direction for the F&B provision within the hotel.
The Royal Borough of Kingston Upon Thames is an affluent London suburb, with one of the largest retail centres outside of the West End.
The new Doubletree by Hilton wanted to capitalise on this and create a destination restaurant and wine bar that would resonate with, not only the hotel guests, but also the wider captive demographic.
We undertook a thorough study of the locality, specifically analysing the F&B landscape to identify the ‘white space’ within the marketplace. Detailed qualitative and quantitative research was also undertaken around the diverse demographic groups and their culinary desires.
The report provided the foundation from which the hotel owners and operators could then build their restaurant offering. The findings were integral in helping to formulate the brief for our branding and hospitality interior designers enabling our studio to create the visual and operational assets.
