Felix II
Following the success of Felix Seafood Grill in Billericay, we were delighted to undertake the Architecture, Branding and Interior Design for chef Stephen Li’s new Essex venture.
Our brief was to turn an uninspiring building into a luxurious and exceptionally unique all-day dining venue, which reflects the high-quality and sophisticated persona of the Felix brand.
Formerly a disjointed brick and tile pub the building required an extensive amount of interior and exterior work to transform the tired space into a beautifully curated dining venue.
Revamping the exterior
Set within a semi-rural location in Brentwood, the sites exterior has been redesigned to deliver an attractive and appealing presence that echoes the sleek and sultry look of the interior scheme.
The entrance to the restaurant has been relocated, a double height glazed atrium has been introduced to offer impressive views into the beautifully lit lobby space. Enveloped in a traditional shiplap cladding, the façade is softened by layers of intricate golden manifestation that have been designed to reflect the natural light whilst creating moody internal shadows.
The new architectural language is befitting to the locality of the Essex countryside, whilst bringing in a contemporary feel which aligns itself with the glamorous restaurant space.
