Overview
The Wheatsheaf is an independently owned pub set in the heart of the beautiful Surrey countryside.
We were asked to undertake a full interior and architectural refurbishment enhancing the heritage of the 200-year-old public house with the design of a vast extension at the rear of the building, helping to create a new light and spacious dining area.
Design
Our architectural team constructed a sophisticated double-height restaurant space complete with an outdoor sunken terrace and striking pergola, which wraps around the entire rear of the building.
We utilised a bold range of traditional and urban materials, allowing the new and existing buildings to seamlessly interlink. The glazed roof of the extension injects abundant amounts of light into the space, creating a warm and inviting ambience for patrons.
