Senior Interior Designer
– Permanent + Fixed-Term Roles –
DesignLSM are seeking a highly creative and dynamic Senior Interior Designer to join our busy Brighton based studio. This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to develop and further their design portfolio within the hospitality industry. You will play a key role in developing and managing interior design projects from concept through to site implementation. Key to your success will be creating strategic focused spaces that standout creatively and are commercially successful.

About the role
Reporting to the Operations Director and Managing Director, you will proactively assist in all aspects of running projects, including liaising with clients and contractors, leading a team, designing compelling concepts, through to onsite implementation. You must be confident in your ability to deliver and demonstrate a true understanding of the overall design process.
Responsibilities
Successfully lead, manage, programme and resource multiple design project from RIBA Stages 0 - 7, to the company’s high standards, ensuring the team follows the approval process throughout
Produce, as well as oversee, the production of concept packs, technical drawings, and tender packages, ensuring all designs delivered are operationally and technically sound, as well as maintaining and encouraging high levels of creativity
Oversee the design direction and production information decisions, acting as a check point throughout the design and production process
Build lasting relationships with existing and new clients to promote new leads, pushing the DesignLSM brand and representing the company in a positive manner
Report to the management team weekly on projects, highlighting any concerns with regards to scope creep
Be aware of industry events, exhibitions, relevant news and inspiring spaces, keeping up to date with new developments and design trends, sharing knowledge with the team
On site management
Ensure your team produce work with the desired PR value in accordance with the company’s high standards
Facilitate positive communication throughout the team and provide motivation, mentoring and training when required
What we are looking for
You will have a minimum of 8 years professional experience in hospitality design and have experience of running medium sized projects. You must demonstrate a strong balance of technical expertise and conceptual design skills. You will be success driven and have a proactive working attitude.
Requirements
BA (Hons) or MA Interior Architecture qualification (or equivalent)
Excellent presentation, conceptual and visualising skills
Keen eye for detail
Proficient in AutoCAD, Creative Suite and Sketch up, Enscape an advantage
On site experience
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with multiple tasks, priorities and deadlines
Fluent in written and spoken English
Strong and confident client communication skills
