Hawkers

Services | Restaurant Branding

We were approached by the EQ Group to create a brand identity for their restaurant in the new DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel situated in the London Borough of Kingston Upon Thames.

It was important for the restaurant to have a separate identity from the hotel in order for it, not only to attract hotel guests, but local residents and tourists.

Design inspiration

We took inspiration from diagrams for aerobatic manoeuvres to construct the logo, and we also applied the diagrams as icons across the brand collateral. The typography is classic and geometric, conveying a nostalgic feel throughout.

We were given access to an extensive archive of black & white photographs from the “golden era” of aviation in Kingston, which we used on stationery, promotional material and a suite of menus. We also used the photographs to create a set of post cards for customers to take away from the restaurant as a memento. Keeping the aviation theme running throughout, we also created Hawkers gold-foiled “passports” to hold the bill, which were made out of beautiful cobalt, embossed card.
